Anyone seen this? 670 from Behringer?

Okay, the small png is a rendering, but I wouldn't be surprised if there are such plans at Behringer. Probably just a matter of time. Wouldn't Uli rather release this under the Klark Teknik brand like their Pultec, 1176 and LA2a clones? The Behringer label was more for their (clone) synthesizer line in the last years.

They would need a solution for the 6386. The target market isn’t going to be happy to hear the price of a single tube, forget numerous somewhat matched tubes.

Borrow from Manley?

Behringer would never do something like that! 😅

Okay, joking aside. Behringer would have all the options. From replacing the tube with a SS solution to producing their own 6386 - maybe they'll even buy JJ?
6386 JJ Tubes can't be used in a 670 Fairchild.
Their specs are poor, and all over the place, and you can't match them for a Pair...so imagine for a Quad ! :-((
Fact is that JJ Tubes do not sale two as a pair.
Only the original RCA 6386 work.
So you need to have a large stock, a good tube tester, and plenty of time to be able to pair them.
Oups... I forgot ! : first of all you need a thick wallet ! :))

Best,
Guy

While you are definitely correct about the less than desirable specs/matching… Here is a pretty detailed video on the subject. Tldr, he got even the worst matched set to work.

I can’t say if the actual Fairchild would react differently.

Analogue Tube and POM are also making modern 670 clones, and there is the very expensive offering from Telefunken USA too.

I think all of them are using JJ 6386
