My friend has one, he dropped it. I remounted the capsule as the rubber rings came off in the housing and tested the tube which tested fine. I have the mic is working and sounds good but I just want to make sure what is going on is normal...
It takes a few secs for the mic to warm up before it is ready to run. Like a soft start PSU.
When switching patterns from cardioid to omni, if this is right after it starts working, I get a drop in volume then the volume fades back in as if it's taking a few secs to charge the capsule for the first time then it works per normal and sounds good.
Surprisingly for taking the hit that it took no real visible damage so I am guessing it landed completely vertical right on top the capsule head. I am also surprised that there is no marking for how the capsule plugs in. It's a 4 pin connector but the way it can be plugged in, it can go in any direction.
