Hi!
A friend asked me if i could build him a 1176 compressor... (revision H), Well, yeah..
But I have questions about the input and output stages, and I want to make sure I'm correct.
1.) These stages does not look to be fully balanced as we all know in today's modern gear, But differential INPUT & OUTPUT. Is that correct?
So, the inverting input receives both +/- phases of the audio signal, instead of going each phase into their own stage.
2.) The same seems to happen with the output stage. It is not fully balanced, but differential. Correct?
So, for the INPUT, Pin2 of an XLR connector holds +/- phases. Pin3 is gnd. and Pin 1 is chassis gnd....
The same for the OUTPUT connector...Right?
3.) The only version of the 1176 with fully balanced input and output is revision F. Correct?
Thank you for your advise!

Attached is the input schematic.
