You can only avoid problematic government if you have an alternative.

What's your alternative?

Everyone against the govt won't work. Look at Russia. It just ends in despotism. Every time.
Small government with limited powers as outlined in our Constitution. Most of our government problems stem from its size and overreaching authority.

That's the essence of anarchism...
opinions vary

Anarchism is a political philosophy and movement that is sceptical of authority and rejects all involuntary, coercive forms of hierarchy. Anarchism calls for the abolition of the state, which it holds to be unnecessary, undesirable, and harmful.

the notion of limited government implies that political power should be used only for a number of specific or defined purposes and that the scope of government activity and legislation should be limited to what is necessary for those purposes. In other words, government should only be concerned with a specific part of human life while the rest is left to the sphere of private action.
Limited government is not just a libertarian concept, our founders wanted a republic with limits against to much federal power.

I invite reading the "Federalist Papers" to get a sense of our founder's thought process a couple centuries ago. They studied all the forms of government that went before. We are remarkably lucky to get that many very smart people into the same rooms at the same time. They clearly didn't all agree with each other, but good enough to give us a healthy start and blueprint to advance into the future. We don't need to tear up the blueprint, we need to follow it.

You clearly have no idea what anarchism stands for today...

Anarchists see the disappearance of the state as an ideal that's probably not possible for many, many centuries. If it is even possible at all.

The way to get there is through direct local democracy.

The bigger the state, the harder it is to have local basic democracy. Like most of you are against a strong, big, federal govt...

The inverse of "l'union fait la farce". :)

Some part of the federalist papers' basics are close to the mindset of the anarchist movement. Other parts stand diametrical to it.

A thing that's very important in today's anarchist movement, is freedom from the adoration of idols. Adoration only leads to dogmatism.

Each individual counts and there's wisdom and beauty in everyone. The idea of "founding fathers" in itself is diametrical to the anarchist ideal. There's no need to keep rehashing how brilliant they were as their wisdom is no longer in sync with reality. That doesn't mean we should simply forget about them, but it shouldn't stop us from evolving.

Times do change and the need for evolution is very important. Lack of evolution leads to revolution. That's even a natural principle. A species that doesn't evolve will disappear eventually, no matter how successful it might be at one point in time. Look at modern history. Every few decades end with war. Wherever you are, whatever period you live in.

The clearest example is the 2nd. While the right to bear arms was logic at that point in time when it was written, it is eating your society now. The definition of "arms" in it is completely crazy, both from the historical perspective and from the practical. Do you really believe a posse with guns can withstand the US Army, if needed? Or will you soon be buying tanks in stead of Cadillacs?

During all the mass shootings has there ever been someone in power that has been a victim? Or even a rich person?

Your govt isn't suppressing you with gunfire. They are using stuff like education, extremely low minimum wages, working hours, credit (cards) and healthcare to keep you under. No need for bullets at all.

For a century now, the fascist machine has been training you to be completely allergic to the words "communism" and "socialism". Even if some of you don't understand their meaning, they are enough to get you into a brainless state of agression.

There once was a diverse political culture in the USA. At the start of 20th century, you had 33 communist and socialist parties. The fascist propaganda machine eradicated all of them. The powers (not the govt) allowed the mob to corrupt your unions, cause it served them well. Your govt is owned by the one percent, operating from outside the country.

Mind you, that's not a conspiracy. There's no bad club of powerful people that have cobbled that together. It's just a natural evolution and the bipartisan system you're in keeps you from seeing it, so you keep blaming the other half of the victims.

It is time to open your minds, boys.

You can't just redefine what words mean to fit your argument.

I watched part of a one hour show on cspan about originalist interpretation of the constitution vs this new magical "living constitution" .

Save your breath I can smell whats being spread around (should help the flowers).

It all comes down to accumulating power and control. We've seen this play out many times before in history.

Where did I do that, John?

TV isn't a substitute for education.

As you should know by now, even euphemist insults don't bother me. I prefer to call a spade a spade. But have it your way if you want.

The Chinese have tried to eradicate capitalism from the people's mind through propaganda. They failed. Their error was that they also provided free education...

you continue to attempt redefining anarchy

sure isn't but its a tool for propaganda, like social media.

good I wasn't trying to bother you, just showing my rejection of your pleading.

The chinese are pretty advanced with controlling the public using credits for "good" behavior that the communist state approves of.. We shouldn't underestimate them.

Despite Ireland only being under our own rule for the last 100 years or so since the revolution , theres very few who feel the need to raise the tricolour in their front garden , there was one local wing nut who insisted on crawling out the side window of his house every morning and hoisting a flag on a pole on his garage roof ,
Im proud to be Irish but theres been plenty done in the name of Ireland I proufoundly disagree with , does that make me an anarchist ? Or is it just that some have vested interests at heart and wont rock the boat or call it like it is ?
Our constitution was written just over 100 years ago , and its brimming full of the usual wishfull thinking of an emerging nation , the rich have continued to get richer and the poor are lucky to get fed .

Funny. I wasn't talking about anarchy, but about anarchism...

I think it is THE tool for propaganda and has been for a while. I studied the impact of publicity on kids and the elderly, many years ago. You can precisely measure that impact. Not everyone is equally sensitive, but most are very sensitive to it.

Even when the elderly don't matter, in the large picture. Kids do.

Where was it that publicity in it's modern form was invented?

Theres no doubt about it in my mind , the constant bombardment of social media has caused an A.D.D. type syndrome in many people , attention span is diminishing , focus gone . The constant window licking and comparing themselves to the rich and famous eats out their confidence after a while . The sooner someone can show conclusively that targeted advertising is damaging to young, impressionable minds, the sooner the iron grills come down around these so called philanthropists running the show .

It certainly adds to the problem. But it's not the main cause. Media bombardment started with TV. Publicity followed, causing hypes. It was downhill from there.

I've been lucky enough to be able to observe a group of kids from very different backgrounds and levels of education. Being born during the US bombardment of a hospital, fi, causes the same syndrome. The kids who are intelligent and still able to focus however, still are good learners. Mostly girls, the boys seem to need some action to get their attention. The smart ones only care for social media because their peers do. The question "Why do they do it?" popped up several times. So I'm hopeful at least some will grow up being able to solve tomorrow's problems.

Like the problem that kids need to fight the constant calculated push from companies trying to sell them needless junk. Do you know even Paris Hilton is being paid to do a cooking show these days? It's hilarious. I bet she's never seen the inside of a kitchen. I'll give you Uncle Roger's take on it:
