There's a couple projects around that use LED's like this SSL-LX3044ID (part#)

It's a 2V LED for the phantom power indicator in the CAPI VP312 project. I also notice the LED for the EZ1290 project uses an LED that just sits in the hole in the front panel.

Anyway, that's the problem. I don't like the idea of it just sitting in the hole or having to glue it.

Are there bolt on versions that someone knows about? Mouser part #?
 
Not sure what the official name is, but they do make LED "grommets", for 3mm and 5mm LEDs, at least.

Haven't checked with the western distributors, but I got a couple hundred of those from LCSC a while ago.
