well... that's a huge issue. Not a minor difference.

There's no such thing as digital cable. I'm sorry to be obstructive, but you must make the question clearer.
As it stands Nobody can answer it, becaus you can't go out and buy "digital cable".
Co you mean SPDIF? -Cat 5? AES3? -You haven't given enough for anyone to answer.

FT number is a "Flame test" rating BTW... nothing applicable to suitability for anything to do with the cable itself other than whether or not the cable can or cannot be used for permanent install if not protected by conduit... see also plenum rating, Fire rating, Halogen content etc.
