Yes going in that direction knowing that you are going to rework everything works quite well.
The other way around after doing a lot of detailed work in PT to send it back out is not always flawless.
 
Yeah-it's unfair for me to say pointless...just pointless for my current need :-D

But I'm seeing that I'm not out of the woods anyway importing all these tracks in as broadcast waves.  Now I have bone dry tracks recorded in a much different way than I usually record.  I'm left to figure out how to make them sound like me (it's my band).  I need afew days on one song I think to get some perspective and see what I can carve out of this.  Otherwise I may end up back at the studio (engineer is long gone, but plugins and eq settings would still be there...)
