Can someone tell me what this is?

im just starting to learn about gear. im really interested in vocals. mixing, recording etc. is this some sort of control to trigger an effect? is this a custom piece cause i cannot find it anywhere.

Well, it's an API module; beyond that, don't know it's exact function(s).

The 512 series were various input modules (mic or mic/line), but what the 'K-1' suffix indicates . . ? Doesn't show up in lists I've seen; maybe a one-off for a customer. What's on the back?

Are 'Echo' and 'Cue 2' knob-less pots, or switches?

Looks to me like a simple routing module. There is a kind of pan at the top, and echo and cue send pots/switches, a solo button and an ON button.

‘STEREO CAL’ suggests it’s a stereo input routing module.

Otherwise pretty much as Ian describes.

Pot is the common English abbreviation for potentiometer.
In German, poti, in French potard.
