Hello everyone, I have 5 small carbonyl core toroid cores, 8.5 relative permeability, 12mm outer diameter, 8mm inner. I have a couple novice questions regarding the design:
Would it be possible to make an acceptable transformer from these cores for a ribbon microphone? Low noise floor, good frequency response 30/40hz-15/20khz.
I already understand the ideal ratio of P to S winding is 1:67, however realistically closer to 1:25-40.
After building the motor and measuring the dc resistance of it, whats the ideal proportion or ratio of impedance in my primary winding to my motor impedance? And same between primary and secondary winding.
Finally, what inductance should I aim for in the primary and secondary windings?
