Good morning. I am a new member. I did my best to see if there was a similar topic so I apologize if I am being repetitive

I am working on a DIY 1073 clone built from scratch using point-to-point wiring, wire wrapping actually.
I have done my best to source proper components including NOS where affordable

My question is regarding input Transformers. It appears my best bet in terms of what is available are the Carnhill VTB9045m and VTB9046m. Sowter’s Transformers look good but they are backed up over 90 days. If the VTB9045m and VTB9046m are in fact suitable please let me know if I need to use a different value cap across the secondaries (mic and line) than was used in the original

Carnhill transformers are exact replacements as the originals, so the values used are the same.
Input transformer: Carnhill VTB9045 (10468)
Output transformer: Carnhill VTB9049 (LO1166)

You can also use UTM transformers from Poland,
they have replacements for the original Neve input and output transfers,

Thank you very much. Those are great assy. instructions - as mentioned mine is a homegrown build using point to point wiring (no pcb) but all the info in your document is extremely valuable nonetheless.

Why?
you are just making your life harder with no advantage or gain.
There's plenty of nice PCBs for it for DIY builds


Because it was fun and challenging and allows me to swap components out with pluggable headers - I’ve enjoyed it immensely and I’m not committed to anything. And it’s not hard or time consuming at all... Sure I can buy PCBs But for me the fun is in the building - I have enough wire wrap sockets and supplies to last a lifetime and this is my usual way of becoming familiar with circuits. It also looks really cool

besides i’m learning cad and will just make own stuff in good time
