Hi all,

I've got a Dany Bouchard D-87 built into an Aurycle tapered body and I'm wondering if there'd be a way to convert it over to the circuit that's uses a higher polarization voltage? My hope would be to mod this so it has higher sensitivity and lower noise. It seems like I've seen a daughter board somewhere that'd allow doing something like this, but I've been searching the threads here and can't seem to find it.

Thanks!

One big difference is in how the patterns are created. The U87i uses a capsule with isolated backplates, and as a result, introduces intra-backplate capacitance. The U87ai ties the backplates together, and generates patterns in a much 'simpler' way, which introduces less capacitance and pads the capsule less.
