BSS model 901 is an analog dynamic eq.  it is like cheating.

Haha I have so many EQ plugins but the dynamic ones get used so much more. And they just make more sense, just like like mixing outside the box makes less and less sense. Recall, automation and the increasing power of the digital creatures blow the ol buzz boxes away. Analog is superb on the frontend and will always be great there, but after that...nope. Did I say something y"all didn't know?

I'm still in touch with a few folks that mix for a living and there are some that now do it entirely ITB, and there are some that don't.
Both camps seem to make great records, receive accolades/Grammys etc. so who's to say?

This is the entertainment business.  If I'm entertained when I listen to the end result, I don't personally care how they recorded or mixed it.
