how much more will 99% have to suffer before saying "Stop" ?

First of all, all those who die -- the highest price, as they pay with their lives.
As for the rest, no doubt, we will all pay for this one.

That's not gonna prevent a future outbreak as virii have already entered human population through pigs and birds (Avian flu and pig flu) in the past.

Someone proposed eradicating all bats which is even more idiotic. Bats kill tons [literally] of insects and prevent many pests from attacking crop, humans and animals. That's why they have such a unique immune system and are full of microbic life. They're also not the only ones. Opossums, fi eat ticks. Maube people should stop killing and eating possums?

Besides, the melting permafrost is a much bigger worry, as it might bring back some of the plagues of the past - bacterial and viral.
