Hello all,
Been pretty busy with my projects. I'm in the middle of building two 1176 REV G (modded a bit), SB4000, and a stereo SA3A. Building all 4 at once was a total mistake, but not all the parts for the pcbs came in so I was just building what I could with each board. Eight, four, and stereo eq's will be next, hopefully. I'm having a ton of fun and learning an incredible amount of knowledge. My front panels should be here soon and I can't wait to see them.
Anyway, I have not had much studio work lately due to being so busy with the IA and I have been "designing" some tools that I could really use on a day to day basis but don't have much of a back ground in electrical engineering. So I was wondering if there are any recommendations for a couple good books pertaining to analog equipment design (I have googled and found some but want to know what you guys would recommend)? I could really use a 4-8 channel mic combiner(2 or 3 into 1 for toms and keys and such) for days when we have "headlining openers" and are very limited on channels (As if 56 weren't enough) but don't want to wire connecters together and hope it works. I might need xfrmers, resistors or caps to keep it balanced maybe? Also could really use my own party line splitter, an A and B, input with 3 outputs per channel with a switch that would combine the A and B lines together with out combining power. And possibly a speaker and mic built in with an option to plug in a headset for each side or possibly just switch to what side I want(total clear-com splitter ripoff of course) Maybe even a C and D due to what the broadways are bringing in lately.
As you can see I need a book to at least learn the rules and lingo so I can research things my self with google or what not. I know I can buy exactly what I just described, but where is the fun in that? Any direction you guys could give me would be great.
Thanks so much,
Austee
