I have a CH328 headphone amp that came from the seller with two pairs of wire leads attached to the pads of C4 (circled in red on the attached schem.) It seems like the intent was to dial the board-mounted 50K trim pot(P1) to min. resistance and use an additional external pot for gain for the output stage that would serve at the volume control for the headphones.
What would be the advantage of doing this over using an attenuator at the output of the amp? How did the original consoles that used this card implement volume control for the headphones? What size/type pot would I use for either scenario?
What would inputs 1,2 & 18,19 be used for?
Could I conceivably two pairs of headphones with this amp?
Thank you!
