That would include shipping. This is the only source I found - https://griffineffects.com/parts/boss-roland-parts/boss-oem-dc-jack-pcb-mount

Anybody have any idea why they use a double normal jack on this pedal? I can't locate any schematics and have no idea what's the point. Unfortunately, the jack is broken in pieces, it's hard to decipher what's mechanically going on.

Any info or insight greatly appreciated. I searched some on the major distributor sits but nothing like it so far.

Thanks

I don't know what you mean by "double normal jack"...
Those jacks have a switch in the contacts so that when you insert the plug it cuts the power from the battery.

Banzai has a huge range of jacks:

Ask in guitar pedals dedicated forums, you will get specific help about pedals over there:

Diystompboxes

Freestompboxes

The Boss RC2 has a DC input jack that incorporates 2 switches, so presumably this is the same on the RC1.

As you say, unlike just about every other pedal out there.
Don't think you have much choice, mate.

Thanks - I appreciate the suggestion to head to the pedal sites, I'll see if there's any additional info there.

Also, thanks for the service info. I really can't see the benefit of the additional switch, it seems it's mostly to keep the battery out of the choke and diode S1; seems like a lot of work for no real benefit. Plus, it's the most fragile part of the pedal and prone to breakage (obviously, or I wouldn't be posting :) ). It seems like they are not too readily available, either.

Thanks again

Following up on my own post

The part number is an HEC2392-01-150 (on the schem) and it appears to not be made any longer, from my searches on the interwebz. It's used in a bunch of Boss and Roland pedals.

I don't see a problem with just wiring pin 4-5 and using a standard jack. But I would appreciate any suggestions as to why not.

Thanks

Oops, that was wrong. Maybe eliminate the trace from 3 - 4 and wire the battery directly to 3. Again, call me out if that's problematic but the part seems unavailable so I need an alternative

The problem is any substitute jack has to fit the same PCB footprint and sit in the same hole in the chassis.
Most but not all 3 pin sockets available are pretty much the same size and shape but you would need to check if you can actually fit them in the RC1 and then do the mod for the missing switch.
Alternative is to fit a chassis mounted DC socket, but these tend to be big and ugly and you would need to enlarge the hole in the pedal.
