This is probably a really stupid question, but I thought you guys on this forum would know better than anywhere else...

I've been trying to record guitars through a DI box and an amp at the same time. Whenever I put the DI box in the signal, and use the "through" output to the amp, the amp starts giving me really loud radio stations. The DI signal is still fine, and if I go straight into the amp it's fine. I've tried this with many different DI boxes (passive and active), amps, cables, and guitars and it always comes up. The radio stations are the same regardless of wether the audio ground is broken or not.

I'd really like to get this working, any help you could give would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Is there a chance that you are shorting the DI chassis to the amp chassis (such as resting a metal DI box on top of a rackmount amplifier)? That would defeat the ground lift switch.

I don't really understand...

I am using a 6' cable into a panel tie which is 6' long to the tracking room, then a 4' cable to the amp. So the total length of cable is 16' and it's all top of the line canare and mogami cable. It all works no problem without the DI box in the chain...

Emperor-TK:
All the DI boxes I've tried have rubber pads underneth and they are both in the control room on the carpet while the amp is in the other room.
