Hello all,

A couple of Digigram MixArt8 AES/EBU cards have recently came into my possession.  They look to be pretty slick.  They are 8 channels of A/D and D/A with Windows drivers.  Problem is the hook-up cables are missing and Digigram wants a $350 for a new set.  I'd like to build a breakout box.  However the connector on the back of the card for analog IN/OUT is a 'High Density' SCSI 40 pin connector.  Not 50 or 68 pin - 40 pin.

Anybody know where I can buy a couple of High Density SCSI 40 pin connectors??  Cuz I am having a real tough time finding them!

Not even a cricket chirping ...

Does anyone here have experience with Digigram products in general?

How about the MiXart8 card in particular?  I am trying to decide if I want to go the expense of buying cables from them.

With a little luck there is the manufacturers name or label printed on the backside of the cardmounted connector.
40 pin is not SCSI, maybe only called SCSI to misdirect for any DIY approach.
good luck.

Hello Harpo,

I've have studied the connector on the card but couldn't find a name.  It looks like a typical AMP product tho.  You are absolutely correct in stating that what I am looking for is not a 'standard' SCSI connector.  However it has the latching ears and identical shape to it's 50 and 68 pin SCSI cousins.  SCSI connector are technically described as either a 50 pin or 68 pin 'Micro Sub-D' connector.  What I am looking for is a male 'Micro Sub-D 40 Pin' connector (with hood).  I hope this helps.

looking more like a ATA/33/66/100 IDE connector.
something like http://www.sealevel.com/product_detail.asp?product_id=660, but Sub-D side is DB-37,
or https://www.buerklin.de/gruppen/KapF/F131000.asp?BN=56F6086#First
If it is SCSI for real, you might be looking for a SCA-2 40-pin connector, defined by seagate http://209.85.129.132/search?q=cache:_i6Lc80-wmsJ:ftp://ftp.seagate.com/sff/SFF-8067.PDF+SFF-8067.PDF&hl=de&ct=clnk&cd=1&gl=de.
Hard to see on the Digigram pic if pins are displaced or not.

Harpo,

I do believe that what I am looking for is a 'SCA-2 40-pin connector'.  The pins are arranged aligned over one another in two rows just like in a traditional SCSI connector.  The crazy things are not easy to find!  Thanks for the help.

How did you make out with this cable?  I have 4 of these cards with only AES cables.  I'm trying to locate the pinout of the SCSI connector to hopefully make cables like you (hopefully did).

Any help is much appreciated!
