Hi,

what about using this to add digital control to diy projects or even existing outboards?

Ignoring parts cost and size, this highly depends on application.
Wiper resistance typical 75R up to 300R, +/-20% total resistance, max.avail.resistance 100K, parts bandwidth, only linear scale, turn-on behaviour, ... might make it unusable for a specific project or wouldn't matter at all.
YMMV.

Ok. I just hoped it would make some food for thought for peoples more knowledgeable than me.

Do you see any existing diy project where their four pots chip could be usable?

If I was doing DIY and needed digital control over something, I'd integrate it into the design.
