hey there
has anyone been winding their own inductors recently.
I know the old threads but some of them are so old the links have gone. Steffens page still works but the CONRAD parts numbers have changed.
plus I dont speak German so this is all a bit confusing.

What cores out there are good to use. Has anyone experimented with different sounding cores. I would go for the stock ones at Mouser etc but I need alot of customised values.
Basically I need links to bobbins cores and wire.

Also how do DIY inductors compare with manufacturers ones?

This thread by "alk509" might be a good place to start.

The "EF 25.1" inductors are still available. At least in the german online shop. What maximum Henry value do you need? The higher values are hard to do without a winding machine. I did Values up to 12H on an oold winding machine.

I would like to do some inductors up to 1.5 henries - but also some higher than that.
The "EF 25.1" inductors ok up to what inductance????

With a thin wire... 0,14mm i got values with smaller bobbins around 10H. If it doesn't fit... just try thinner wire. Maybe I can try to wind you an inductor if you want. Its much more easier to wind them on a machine than by hand but it works. For 10H you'll maybe need 800-1000 turns or so...
