Hi everyone,

I have this guy for repair, didn't boot.

After opening, the memory battery was blown, failed short. The console boots when replacing the battery with a lab power supply, so that's cool

I also have to replace a failed LCD.

BUT, these two guys also look dead to me. I don't know what these components are.
silkscreen says "var1" and "var2". They are connected to the LAMP connector.

anyone knows what can they be?

Thanks!

Input protection on de DMX input or PSU?

Looks like a 30V varistor to me. The controller works without these, of course, but if they failed violently, it could mean the DMX input is dead. One more thing to test...

They're not on the DMX input or output, they look like they're wired in series with the LAMP connector (to put a small gooseneck light).

I don't know if they failed violently or if they're just old. we were given this console recently and it's pretty rusty.
