A little late for this, but push-pull potentiometers for freq range select? They don't take space in the front panel... I don't know about availability though.

No push-pull potentiometers. There are 2 options to stuff pcb's with FREQ pots: dual 10k lin or dual 100k revlog.
Compare UREI 545 and 546 schematics for implementation; ISA 430 and Neteq done with 10k lin pots too.
