so - besides radio shack and a catalog/ebay - is there any place in the city to get a solderless breadboard? I need to prototype something, and I have been meaning to get a breadboard for a while now.
Tinkersphere is a fairly new store that sells lots of DIY Electronic Components in Manhattan. The shop is really nice and they are focused on robotics so they have all kinds of neat robotic kits too besides the components. Decently priced and pretty well stocked for a hobbyist like myself. I sure was super glad to stop running all around the city when I found it. Figured someone might save a trip out of the city by reading this. You can thank me later Link: http://tinkersphere.com/21-parts
Leeds is still going strong on N 7th in Williamsburg. http://leedsradio.com/
269 Electronics is still around, though their supplies of NTE parts may be diminishing. (212) 625-0405
Small Bear Electronics doesn't have a storefront, but pickup is possible. They specialize in guitar FX pedals, kits, etc. but have plenty of good parts on hand. https://www.smallbearelec.com/home.html
