You are correct about the weight, it does attract a magnet.  I do not have a geiger counter any more, so hopefully that is all it is made of.

I did not post a closeup of my capsule, but it is 16 x 8mm and omni.  The only marks on it are from the pliers I used to pull it out.

Hey that is a fake "16mm"-capsule from the en-CORE microphone - there is only an el-cheapo 9,7mm omni-capsule inside !

Right again!  It is marked "EPE".

Other fun facts:
The plastic shell of the XLR connector has fake screw heads molded into it.
The wire is a single conductor, shielded, leading to a molded 1/8" TRS plug.
Said wire is about 2 meters long and has a resistance of over 1.5 ohms.  For comparison I connected two 1 meter cables I have at my test bench - all together they measure 0.1 ohms.
Pin 1 of the XLR has a tinned bit of wire coming off of it.  Instead of soldering to the lug where the screw connects the XLR to the body, they bent it over and pretended it would touch the metal.

I'm sure there is more, but actually I am happy with the parts I got at the price I paid.

Oh an EPE - DGO9767CD capsule inside - here are the specs ..... 60db S/N is a bit far away from the claimed 78db....
