I wonder whether anybody in plain english can tell me what I have to look out (grounding etc) and how to resolve this when choosing a Plastic enclosure with aluminium front and back plates for the group diy eq and preamp projects
Note - there are no mains transformers located in the box - the box is being fed with DC via 4 pn XLR...

Keep it simple and don't over complicate things.

I have many units that have no shielding. If it works on the bench feed with DC it should work fine in a plastic box.
If you find that something changes as you add the pots and switches to the front and rear metal panels then you deal with it as it happens.

Put the switches and pots in ... one by one ... while it is on and gained up. You will hear any noises or loops as they arrive.
If you do need to put ground straps to pot cases etc ... be on the lookout for multiple ground paths.

... but I stick with my first comment ... keep it simple.
