External psu hooked-up question

Hi guys

What connector do you guys use to connect an external psu to a piece of gear. I'm building an external psu for a Jet phase AP-7 and was looking to what connector use to link them. Is a XLR 3pins will do the job? I have +9v, -9v and GND so I need 3 pins. I know we link tube microphone psu to the microphone itself with 7 or 9 pins xlr so it leads me to think a XLR connector should do the trick. Maybe their is some special connector for that matter? Thanks guys

I believe an XLR will be just fine.

Thanks. I found some xlr rated for 50V / 16A. I don't know if there is some special purpose xlr connectors, thought.

Just imagine what damage will be done when this gets accidently (in a hurry, dark stage) plugged into whatever else and powered on.
Anything other than a standard audio connector (XLR, TRS, ...) might be a better fit.
