right down to the real nitty gritty right here,

we will bobbin wind this guy and compare performance, some people say layered paper sounds better.

i say if you use the same margins and insulation, there should not be much difference.

and and might even get better if we use Nomex insl,

ok almost done with the print, ...

and why not do a little rock climbing while we are waiting for the print to dry,

we gave some inductance charts also,

lots of inductance, but bass will be limited by the core size as you will see on the print (saturation)

ok, that's a wrap, this transformer was designed to limit low end to the 10" speaker,  bass saturation will happen at about half power,

so beware of upgrades to the OPT if you want that Fender Special Design speaker to last,

this original Shumacher design differs from the aftermarket offering from a vendor who shall remain nameless,  :D

we will upload this to

shortly.

This is great stuff!
I actually wanted to try some transformer winding, for fender tweed clones. Princeton Reverb should be the same transformer as Tweed Deluxe. Or a least I use the same one  ::)

Just received my CNC coil winder btw  ;D

Tweed DeLuxe OPT is a gapped core design,  different from Princeton Reverb

Yes, it seems to be the case.
I just used the same type of Hammond transformer for my 5e3 and Princeton Reverb builds... 8k:8 ohm, 15W.
I wonder what sound difference it would make.

Which model and vendor did you get your CNC from Anthon?
Did you spin anything up on it yet ?
Im ordering one soon as well , the thing Im unsure about is spare parts , all though I did find a dedicated Chinese winding supply store and lost it again .

This is the one I've got https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7PXXoA3897M

It's from Alibaba. There are multiple vendors that sell the same machine, it's 0.03-1.2mm machine - good range for audio transformers.
They even had a EU warehouse, so there were no shipping costs and import taxes. It arrived in couple of days.

I haven't done any coils yet, because I need to order some bobbins and wire, and make an adaptor for it. But I played around with programming, and it seems to work. The construction is rock solid, feels like something you could use on a daily basis.
I don't know how it will perform in the long run, but for 525 euro including shipment, it would be hard to beat. I don't think finding spare parts would be difficult, because it seems to be a very common machine. From what I've seen, it gets the job done.

I've contacted a UK based distributor for a similar machine, and it was almost 7000 euro  :-\ even though it's also made in China.

Its good to finally see a proper demo and explanation of the functions of the machine .Looks fairly fool proof .

I'd be really interested to see whats under the cover plate if you happen to look do take a photo for us here .

Looks like those nozzles he spoke of could increase the precision a bit especially for smaller diameter wire , wires above 1.2mm could fairly easily be layed down by hand without the use of the feed arm , its normal in any case with larger diameter wires to have to use a plastic faced  mallet and a drift to keep the lay of the wire tidy as it goes down on the bobbin.

Interesting to note you got  fast free  delivery and no extra vat on yours , I may be able to claim vat back on my machine which makes the deal  even  more attractive .

All the acessories with the machine ,how does the quality of those look ?

I'll have a look around again for the China winding supplies place I found before , as some small spares are bound to be required from time to time ,as well as some other parts for specific jobs etc .
