My guess is, the grommet is authentic, removed after servicing an old unit, and instead of trowing it in the bin someone suggested, let's put it on Reverb.

A perished and withered grommet probably belongs in the toxic waste bin ,
I never liked Reverb , theres too much bullshit of the above kind ,

I guess the one saving grace this site has is often there good photos
that include internal shots of the gear .
