Well there is no real warning system and all the rains last year caused this as we had massive growth of plants and vegetation but no rain to sustain it this year so it all dried up.scott2000 said:Man that's crazy!

What kind of warning systems are in place for when these things start up??? Is it like a satellite system???? Too bad they spread like they do...

The one that was upper close to me was started by homeless.The news reports was they were cooking. It makes sense as once it started they would have fled.
Crazy times. Yes we need rain but with all the growth burned off, it would create mudslides and possible cause different but equally serious issues.
As for the Thomas fire now the 3rd largest in CA history, many have lost their homes including drummer simon phillips who was out away playing with protocol when his house and studio went up. It's easy in ventura county and spread all the way to santa barbara county. We got a few others around but again news radar does not register them any more.
