the studio is located blocks away from where the craziness happened and is continuing to be happening despite curfew and other things.  While it's hard to tell we are a studio from the outside, with the current climate and everything being decimated,  we wanted to take some precautions that  would deter the mobs.

In steps the trip wires and flash bangs. We ordered the tripwire devices from a company and they hold a 12 gauge shotgun shot size of ammo. they easily bolt onto things and are hard to see.  If we wanted them to be deadly would load them with standard shotgun rounds.  hit the trip wire, buckshot fires and done. However we don't want that, we just want to deter anyone. so insteps the flash bang shots. they are 12 gauge size and fit the tripwire devices. when triggered by hitting the trip wire they produce a 172dB loud boom/bang and a big flash. enough to disorientate even the biggest of  people.  We used them before while camping to scare off bears should there be bear issues.

We also got bear spray, this is legal to own and is basically like pepper spray but stronger.  it is to be used for camping and if a bear charges you. Spray them and they will go away.  In some states it is illegal to use on humans so check and make sure what you can and can't do with this stuff.

Now we have our alarm system, and usual measures to prevent theft like the cameras, but these are unusual times so the flash bangs and bear spray is a more humane way than just shooting someone who steps onto private property. I can't believe I would ever be thinking of such things but these are unusual times.

It is always illegal to harm humans.

People have been sued for booby-trapping vacation homes or other opportunistic properties.

Use cameras to help ID miscreants, and perhaps motion sensing lights to discourage them from sticking around.  Some half-ass deterrents may just make them think there something more there to pursue.

Perhaps put up a diaper service sign.
