Heres my G7 mic that i finally finished. The sound is amazing. Thanks to Jakob for sharing his schematic and pcb layout.
Im using Dales M7 clone, and a beyer 1:7 transformer in reverse on the output.
I also modified the psu voltage divider to get around 60V to the back of the capsule. On the front i get around 62v with the unmodified circuit. That was the closest i could get, but i figure it is close enough for rock'n'roll, right?
Other than that nothing out of the ordinary about it.
The biggest problem with it is that the mic looks so much better than the psu, which i made from a really beat up old hammond box that I bought for almost nothing. You cant really tell that from the pic though.
I also really need to thank Hasse for making the capsulemount for the m7 clone, giving me the copper tube, and the bottom plate, and some tools...Basically he almost built it. And Thanks to Happytom for giving me the brass mesh. Thanks guys!
Now i just need to find a suitable shockmount and case for it. Any ideas?
