G7 microphone finally finished!!! (now with a short clip!)

The capsule is dales M7, and the tube is some nos ef86 which i picked from a couple for it being the least noisy (i bought 4 of them cheap). I think it was a mullard that finally ended up in the mic.

I finally found a cold solder point in my G7. Fixed it and now it sounds absolutely great. :grin:
 
120-60-0 with load right?

i measured around 161-79-0 without load... i have dales m7 in the mic. should i really use 120-60-0 to avoid the suck to the backplate.
 
I dont know, it might vary from capsule to capsule i guess since other people have had luck with higher voltages and this capsule.

Try it and see.

i did look for visual signs... didn't see any. i guess im good. im under 160 with load anyway so...

I didn't check voltages in my G7 but I built microphone and psu from the original plans without changing anything and it works fine with Dales M7 capsule. :thumb:
