General size for a Variac

Hello Chaps,


Just wondering what size of variac is best suited to Valve /tube DIY stuff.

from mic pre's to guitar amps etc.

I guy i know is getting rid of one, but i've had no size or kva ratings off him !

250-500VA is what you need for most purposes. If you don't know the rating of the variac, check it's fuse - that will tell.
