yes
all of them

if you take your time and do your research, you can do any project presented here or at our various web sites.

Thanks
It took about 2 months to get all the parts and build the unit, getting all the parts seemed to be the biggest stumbling block. I tested each unit before it was cased off a couple of surplus psu's, to try out each channel. The first channel worked straight off but i noticed the level kept going up and down, which turned out the chips weren't pushed fully home in their sockets i think i was frightened of breaking them. Every part was checked and double checked, resistors with an ohm meter. I made a simple jig to hold the resistors in the pcb with a piece of wood and foam and two rubber bands. Second channel worked in a fashion and i isolated the problem down to one band which had a short on the print. Great project thanks to Jacob, i haven't the patience to sit down and design that pcb it must have taken quite a while. Well if i can build something like this with not much experience i'm sure with patience most people can.

Very good, girls! I'm very impresed. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

Come on, don't be shy, show us more.

I have a sugestion to Jakob. I think because this thread is dedicated to the girls, and they are not many, we should use a sticky for this thread for lets say a week untill most of them will show up.

Also I think boys we should not scare them so please be nice.
I just got my camera working and put up a few more pics...normally I keep a low profile...
  Wow! I wouldn't worry about keeping a low profile if I was turning out stuff like that!
This was my first diy project and it turned out quite well if I do say so myself...
Yes, it turned out great! Building from surplus parts is extremely difficult (which is why I hate doing it), so you should give yourself an extra pat on the back for doing that.

Vicki

I like the recycling of the case.

I`ve sold a couple of point to point wired vari mu compressors in recycled cases that I found under a railway arch in Brixton.

Another good source for 1U cases I found are 2 friends I have in the computer networking business. They pull old switch boxes out of places because they are too slow & have become obsolete. They are not 19" cases but roughly that size. All you need to do is buy a 1U panel from CPC for £1.63 & bolt it on the front.

get scared very easily.
By the way,

A bunch of people here seem to have a gripe against EM... what's so bad about her??
Justin.
Nothing..absolutely nothing..dont mind the smal minded people of the world..;-)

Kind regards

Peter

Wow, very cool looking stomp boxes there! Great work all round (much further on the journey than me!!) still planning & buying bits...

And... I won't deny my admiration for the EM stuff, If someone turned up on my doorstop with a Vari-Mu they'd be my new best friend!! (but then again if anyone turned up on my doorstep with any piece of gear for me that would also work  )

Justin

"but then again if anyone turned up on my doorstep with any piece of gear for me that would also work"

Give me your address and I will send you some Cranesong, Lavry and GML stuff. I have to make some space here.

Goodonyer' Chrissugar,
Great stuff girls...I'm impressed.
I doubt that I will be posting on this site anymore; 'jes lurkin'!
I PM back & forth with a few generous souls & that's about it for me.
But it's great to see a minority group being bought to the fore & given an opportunity to strutt their stuff.
Regards,
Danielle

All I got to say is girls that understand electronics are hot! And to build their own gear Wow! Why aren't there girls like this in Pasadena. I guess they all work at JPL.

I once talked to a cute female about phasing and comb filtering and I almost died!

Sorry but I am not a native english speaker so I don't understand what you mean. Did I say or do something wrong? I thought it would be a good idea to dedicate a space to the girls.
I'm seriously impressed with what I see so if I said something wrong I apologise.

Slang is difficult to look up in a language dictionary.

"Good on you, chrissugar.
I doubt I will be posting here anymore, just lurking [reading but not posting].
I will private message with a few friends instead."

Oh I've been away for a while but I'm a girl and I make diy stuff too. Great seein' Vicki and Reggie doin their thing. I've been working on music since last summer but I have some time again for DIY... I'm going to rack my Telefunken 672s and finish building my LA-2a. It's taking forever because I'm too poor to buy parts. A few old projects are at

wow thanks guys. this is the friendliest most encouraging place! I can't believe I spent all winter trying to rebuild a goofy hifi tube preamp. lol. I'm never gonna "mod" anything ever again - all I ended up keeping was the case for the dang thing and it still hums. I made oak wood sides for my old mpc-60 too. woo.

Did I promise anything to anybody that I forgot about? I have that guilty feeling somehow...

This is great to see. This thread could have so easily degenerated into a silly Men are from Mars, Women from Venus thread with very subjective theorizing about how we approach DIY differently...

But it didn't! It's encouraging to see that the supportive nature of this forum is cross-gender.

Way to go gals for such awesome work, and way to go guys for such awesome and consistent encouragement!

Keep up the cool projects! :green: :thumb:
