Just joined, been browsing around here for a few weeks already. Recently got into more DIY -- have modded my guitars a fair bit over the years, but nothing like a full circuit build or mic mods. As of now, I just built 2 Aion FX pedals and did a Mic-Parts mod to an MXL990. Fun and very happy with the results! Learned a ton about analog circuits in the process, especially when I had to troubleshoot.

I'm sure I will too! Honestly, the pedal builds were much more involved than the 990XF, already got 2 more on the way.

You're going about DIY the right way IMO. Start out small and progress to more complex projects.
