I just got a heat gun that someone used for removing paint. I'd like to use it to shrink tubes and the nozzle seems too big, so is there something special to look for when choosing nozzle? My guess is that I should look for some kind of pointed nozzle to avoid damaging components, when things are tight. Grateful for any advice!

The nozzle I have is curved around so it acts as a shield to keep the heat on the work. Sorta like this.

A proper heat gun kit comes with multiple spreaders and deflectors.

None of these are really right for small-space wire-shrink. In fact a 1,500W house-stripping gun is really more than you want or need. However you can bend-up deflectors from scraps of sheet metal. Can lids may be handy. Aluminum flashing is very easy to work with. Heavy-duty kitchen foil folded quad-thick may last a while.
