Joined out of general interest in audio repair and modification. Nothing crazy, simply looking to learn. I dabble in music, occasional voice over work, film sound, and general audio.
Was drawn here from a @kingkorg thread on modding a black Rode NT1, as I own one myself and was looking to see what extra performance I could squeeze out of an already fantastic, quiet, and neutral microphone. It was pretty mind blowing to see how simply wedging a piece of foam into the capsule mount to make it more secure helps eliminate low frequency rumble, as well as smooth out high frequency response and roll off haha. No circuit mods, no changing capsules..
