Hi - I have been lorking around here for a few months now and I decided to finally register. I have done a few DIY projects and have been working on consumer electronics for a few years now. Enough about me - I have a question regarding the Alps faders in my GL2000 mixing console.

So basically, they are resisting cleaning and I think its time to replace them. Allen and Heath wants to charge $20 per fader and I think Mouser has the same ones for $6-8 apiece. (Mouser Part no. 688-RSA0N119A02)

My question is are these the same faders? They seem like they are going to fit but I notice that there are 4 pins on these and only 2 on the ones currently in the console. Here is a link to a picture of mine to compare:

Fader

I have to replace just about all 28 of these... $20 apiece is out of the question. Thanks so much!

oops.

Mouser link

I missed a "1"

I guess these have the wrong taper though. Somone over at the tapeop board suggested panasonic PJQ100SA-nd Mono faders. They seem to be the ones, and there is a dual version for my 2 stereo channels. I guess I need just a teeny bit more assurance before I order...

The pot you are holding has 3 pins; 2 on one end and 1 on the other. The pot on the Alps data sheet has 6 pins; 4 on one end, 2 on the other end. The 6 pin pot is a stereo. I assume you only need the mono pot. Almost any slider that has 100mm travel, 120 mm mounting centers will work for your mixer. Just make sure you get the correct resistance/taper (probablly 10K-A), and the correct tang for the knob.

Alps, as well as other off-shore component manufactuers are always changing there product line. Don't execpt to see the same part numbers for too long.

The mono slider from Mouser should work fine.
