Trying to repair a Euphonix MC control.
Poking about i've got a part that looks like a LDO regulator. Trying to work out what it should be doing.

It's in a sot-223 package [?or D-PAT?]

Fairchild part marked :-
DULXX
1086S

Is there a monster SMT cross reference  book out there ?

1086 is a series of teeny regulators:
https://www.digikey.com/products/en/integrated-circuits-ics/pmic-voltage-regulators-linear/699?k=1086S

But that big fat leg-cap butt-jointed on those teeny pads--- I would be thinking broken traces, not failure of a self-protecting regulator.

Thanks PRR, thats the puppy.
Looks like it's behaving.
The dodgy shotgun'd cap was me. The smt cap for the reg had been ripped off the board taking the pads with it by the previous owner.
