I'm hoping someone here on GroupDIY can identify the make/model signal meter used on Helios/ADR F600/F700/F760 Limiter submodules. I've been looking for one of these meters for a few years but I don't even know who manufactured it. I have both F600 and F700 cards that I'd like to wire up and mount alongside some 4U Helios preamps, but there's very few professional meters small enough to fit on the panel. It would be amazing if it were still possible to have the original meters special ordered.

They don't look like any Sifam or Simpson (or other extant maker) meter I know, but maybe they were a special order product?

Here are some close-up photos of this meter mounted on the F760. Any ideas?

Interesting! I was involved in Audio+Design's USA marketing in the early 1980's, but their active products used Sifam meters with a black housing (see attached).

In the pictures posted above, there are clearly two different models of meters. They vaguely remind me of Shurite meters. I think there was a similar manufacturer that perhaps started with the letter "E". Eimac popped into my mind, but wrong....that is a company that makes large power tubes for radio transmitters.

Any idea of the width of the modules in the pictures?

For sure, could be Ernest Turner or Anders. Also, the handwritten rear label you can just glimpse at the top of the module side-view photos reminds me of the way Sifam meters are labeled.

The F760 panels above are Helios "N" format, 1.6" wide I think. So I figure the meter is 1.5" wide, and about 1" tall.

I've looked at all kinds of Japanese meters from Kyoritsu, Shurite, Argonne, Calectro, Calrad, Philmore, Skyline, some vintage American Emico, Dixon, Modutec, Hoyt, and others. Most of the Japanese brands have a meter that's about 1.75" square with a 38mm panel cutout. Less frequently, I've seen a few 1.5" square models. Sifam currently has a 1.5" square AL15 model. But I've been hoping I'd eventually find one of these original rectangular meters.

I could be wrong, but I believe these are both the same meter. One has a grey cover over the bottom mechanism, and the other is bare.

I've only seen this meter used on the F600-F760 modules that were built into Helios consoles, and you can see the same meter used even on the limiters that were in the first 1966 silver Olympic Swettenham console, and all the way up until the last 1979 Helios consoles. Of course many of the later Helios consoles also had the double width ADR F700's with slightly larger black Sifam PPMs.

I guess it doesn't make much difference, its not likely I'll ever find one of these obscure UK meters.

I can just make out a few things on the label like "model" and a symbol in the lower corner. I just found the same sticker on an old Anders meter online.

The PPM meter used on the A&D F760 is a SIFAM AL 19. I fiited some of these to the Dual Helios 19" 1U rack module for Tony Arnold. I purchased hundres of meters from Sifam
I have one in stock.

Here's a couple of pics from one I have at the moment. No numbers anywhere on them though.

As I mentioned earlier the meter is by SIFAM. AL19B version as shown on the photograph of the F760 module.
It is A AL19B front panel mountinmg. Dimensions 49mm x 42mm high according to my vernier guage.
I will scan the Sifam data sheets tomorrow and post here

This is the meter I have for sale. £60 +post.

Should clear up all assumptions and suggested type.

Thanks for posting these. I've never seen a blue F760, do you know which console it came from?
I'd love to see some more photos of your F760 restoration if have any handy : )
I'm guessing you don't have any extra Anders meters you're not using.
