Hi,
I have hooked up two Neve 1073 type (St. Ives) Line input 1:1 parallel:series (2k4:2k4).  I use them in front of an RNC compressor to add a bit of warmth.  They sound great by the way.  Here is how I Hooked them up.
connect 2&3 = + input
connect 4&5 = - input
connect 8&9
pin 7 = + output
pin 10 = - output

My only question is: Do I need a Zobel Network o the outputs?  I don't have the scope to meaure ringing.
Thanks

HI,

if you have no oscilloscope, you'll have to use your regulation issue, standard ear'oles instead! How does it sound? can you hear any strangeness especially in the sibilance area? Chances are, any ringing adds a certain something anyway imhe.

A 2K:2K generally does not need special loading. That's for higher impedance windings.

Without any secondary loading you will have a +4dB peak at 50k (ringing), load it with 2k2 and it will be flat to 30kHz and 3dB down at 65kHz. Normaly the Marinair / St'Ives needs a loading resistor with the same value as the secondary winding.
