Hello, I'm looking at a sick U67 at the moment, & I think the problem my be a poor connection in the plug that mates with the microphone.  I'm trying to disassemble the plug to take a look.  There is just 1 grub screw & the other places have screws that have no way to get a screwdriver or allen key on them.  Almost like someone had lost 2 grub screws & used normal screws that they have filed the heads off smooth.

I'm hoping this isn't the case, that I'm missing something & there is an easy way to get the thing apart.  Anyone shed any light on this ?

Hi Rob,

There are normally three slotted grub screws that are spaced 120º apart around the outer casing.

These are locking screws that protrude into corresponding holes in the inside barrel to stop it from turning. Note that they do not thread into the inside barrel, they just protrude into these holes by screwing into the outer section.

You open the plug by first removing these screws, and then unscrewing the inner part of the connector against the outer section. If two of the screws are blind-headed then it seems you have a problem, as there will be no way to unscrew the plug until these are removed.

Hope this helps,

Dan

How would someone have gotten them in ?  too tight to merely apply pressure onto the screw and turn ?
too small to glue anything to it , drill it out as a last resort , good luck .
