I have broken one of the pins in an Altran C-3402-2 while desoldering from a non working preamp...I have tried to open the transformer can, but without any results...

Any advice?

if you can see an existing part of the pin that broke off, i've done this,

very carefully using a hand drill (manual not electric) and a REALLY tiny bit, drilled a little hole into the center of the pin part, talking only 1/2mm (thats HALF mm not 1 or 2) deep and VERY carefully soldered a lead from a resistor or diode (diode leads tend to be a lot bigger).  Worked fine.

if you get ot hot you might be able to save it by carefully digging it out fter you pop the lid,

is it a pin that has a connection?

sometimes you luck out and break an NC pin, sometimes not,

Bad luck...

The transformer pin is one from the primary winding, I have tried drilling manually with a 0.8mm but was impossible to make connection with anything...

Then I drilled manually with bigger drills trying to find the connection...but nothing.

Any other way?opening the can?

jst se a heat gun or a blow drye or  a camp fire to heat it up and pop it loose,

you have nothing to lose unless yo want to se the good half for a bass inductor

It sounds like it was pulled out completely. I've had this happen to old iron that was being salvaged from dead telecom gear.

i have a crimson audio helix coil right here if you wanna see it,

or would you rather have the Beyer?  :-*
