Hey...

Can some attenuators be implemented on the G1176 for i/o level control?

I've seen that a 600:600 H type was used on the input in the original so I was wondering if this could used:

I'm running mine without any input iron tho...

Cheers

Others better qualified to answer your actual question but I figure that with the 5532-input an additional attenuation-control at the input-side would be duplicating the functionality of the already present 'input'-control.

But you're also thinking of an output attenuation ? Not tried myself yet, but I could imagine it'd be cool to have something like this to drive the output-TX and have a separate means to control the level to the next device.

Bye,

Peter

I didnt mean an att in addition too the pot...either one or the other. Only reason I fancied some stepped att's is for easier/quicker level matching between 2 linked units..

Right, I see :? sorry for my quite obvious RE.

That input-pot could also be in stepped form (this will be another obviousity, but is that a word ? )

If you're referring to the schematic at...

...then you don't need a constant-impedance attenuator. A stepped pot will work fine.

Here's a popular online calculator for stepped pots.

If you're talking about the bridged-T attenuator used on the transformer version, then yes, the bridged-T I posted would work fine. Matter of fact, I kinda had that in mind when I sketched it... I was getting tired of people asking "where can I get that dual pot for my 1176?" over and over again...
