Oh, also the Prosoundweb Royer / MXL tube mic mod guide. Google it. It's about three pages long or so.

Ahhh.... I can't count the nights I have passed out with my face buried in printed out schematics from Gyraf, Royer, etc... Mostly for mic pre stages sofar though....

The mic is wired up whether all of you like the design or not.

I'll post a picture of it today, just as much for my own exhibitionism as anyone else's curiousity.

Check out the PSU!!!!!! :sam: :sam: :sam:

The ol' heater tap is 6.3 AC, so I might actually have to use a separate xformer for that. Unless someone has a cool link on how to get @6VDC out of 6.3VAC, I'll probably use an old wall wart xformer and smooth it out a little... Maybe I'll throw in a zener for regulation. Once again, using what is available.

Do it and have fun, learn.

I will!

I would use two diodes, one on each power transformer leg, going both to the input of the filter, for a full wave rectifier. Or you could use a bridge, fand reference the negative side to ground.
