WOW, Thank you all!!
My head is getting so big I should go stick it in the Niagara River LOL!
But really, it is gratifying to have all those compliments.
A lot of people have been PMing and e-mailing me asking me to sell them bodies or give them details on the construcion. I have archived a pretty good photo gallery of the construction methods which I will post.
I can't make any for anyone however because it was so time consuming and difficult for me to make them, I would not want to do it again uless I could find an easier way.
Here is a reply that I gave to a forum member (who asked how much they cost me) that I think prety much sums up my adventure with the G7s
oh if you only knew what I went through to get them finished.....
the capsule and the transformer are the most expensive components.
But I'm also factoring in things like the company who nickle plated it for me lost one of my grills and I was out of material so I had to reorder.
I bought the capsule from one of the forum members overseas in belgium and the banks (both mine and his) raped me with additional charges and fees....I think about as much as the cost of the capsule itself! Before I thought of having them nickle plated I sent them out to be powder coated but they put it on way to thick and ruined the grills. I had to then sandblast the bodies clean and make new grills. Don't forget the cost of the dual mic power supply...hell even the 2" high density foam for my case cost me $50
I have not even touched on the amount of time it took to do stuff, redo stuff , run around finding a plater, and engraver who could do it and on an on and on. R&D takes time and money, and I'm only talking about the grills and bodies really....building the electronics was by far the fastest and easiest part, everything was well documented and laid out.

Cheers :sam: :sam: :sam:

Hey thanks Ward,
Those are Rode shockmounts....the only ones I could find that gripped the mic well enough....it's really tight!
Cheers,
Freddy
