Ive been calling out social media as harmful and dangerous for many years ,
The government here did a deal with media companies around 15 years ago , it allows anyone in the EU over the age of 14 be marketed to as adults ,

We can also clearly see the effect social media has had on politics and democratic process , its certainly not helping them read the public mood any better and in the end it seems to lead to a situation where our political leaders are more out of touch with whats happening on the ground than ever before .
Its like our elected representatives get swept away on a magic carpet ride , surrounded by a filtered bubble of approval from their 'like whores' .

We've just had one populist politician chewed up and spat out after he was shoehorned into the role ,without a mandate from the public ,
Today we have a new incomming leader , again without any mandate , a few hundred votes of members of parliment deciding who gets the top job,
Were drifting further and further from democracy due to social media .

I had to quote that - it's brilliant.

Today we have a new incoming leader , again without any mandate , a few hundred votes of members of parliament deciding who gets the top job,

Tell me about it. Here in the UK, the popular with the people PM was unceremoniously stabbed in the back and replaced with a string of wannabees.

Cheers
