Bumping old thread!

If I want to convert this mic to use a 10:1 output transformer (and nix the EF stage), I think I need to:

1) Remove D2 (PNP)
2) Remove R9 and R10
3) Remove C6
4) From hole in bottom leg of R10 (where it connects to output capacitor), wire a jumper over to the top leg of C6
5) Replace transformer

I believe R18 would need to be increased in value slightly to compensate for the lowered current due to removal of the PNP (to keep the drain bias the same).
 
i replace the caps to other better and the changes is minimal, but change the out capaticor (c8) to 1uf ... its the best audible change !!... recommended

Matador, sorry to bring up a really old thread, did you ever complete this mod? Wondering if it worked. Thanks.
