Thanks. You can also use an EF86 of course or the M.8195 or the other CV military version.

Or 4HR8 (same as PF86) w/ 4+V at the filaments. That's a g*ddamned BIG secret, btw, I shouldn'ta opened my own big mouth. Jakob let loose w/this one in his G7 mic designs, still hope nobdy catches on. Keep in mind that "pearls before swine" thing Jesus taught us all about, k? Look for typical Mullard date codes etched in the bottle down by the pins, GE 5star. RCA, Rogers, sometimes Westinghouse, up to early 50's. Sometimes old mil-spec RCA 6267, and even 5789's with the old red RCA meatball logo, but you gotta "debut" them in the circuit. Those are almost always less than $10 a piece. Check out any 6267 AAMOF, usually solid plates not mesh plates. Mazda EF86 aren't that bad, and cheap, mesh plates very similar in looks to Tele EF86. UF86, also different filament voltage, dc to dc convertor in filament supply from typical 6.3 or 5v filament winding.
Jeez, I take a nap and go to work and the whole damned world splits wide open while I'm out in the field up to my knees in mud and wet concrete. I'm gonna quit my job and just sit in front of my computer all day and nite, waiting for banner days. Somebody wants to send me scans of the pcb, puh-leeze? (whine, beg, grovel grovel shamelessness shamelessness shamelessness)
rgds,
Brad
