Ok, will someone post some sorta PTP layout or something for the folks at home to play along? (Leave it to finals to get in the way of DIY.)

Thanks. You can also use an EF86 of course or the M.8195 or the other CV military version.

Or 4HR8 (same as PF86) w/ 4+V at the filaments. That's a g*ddamned BIG secret, btw, I shouldn'ta opened my own big mouth. Jakob let loose w/this one in his G7 mic designs, still hope nobdy catches on. Keep in mind that "pearls before swine" thing Jesus taught us all about, k? Look for typical Mullard date codes etched in the bottle down by the pins, GE 5star. RCA, Rogers, sometimes Westinghouse, up to early 50's. Sometimes old mil-spec RCA 6267, and even 5789's with the old red RCA meatball logo, but you gotta "debut" them in the circuit. Those are almost always less than $10 a piece. Check out any 6267 AAMOF, usually solid plates not mesh plates. Mazda EF86 aren't that bad, and cheap, mesh plates very similar in looks to Tele EF86. UF86, also different filament voltage, dc to dc convertor in filament supply from typical 6.3 or 5v filament winding.

Jeez, I take a nap and go to work and the whole damned world splits wide open while I'm out in the field up to my knees in mud and wet concrete. I'm gonna quit my job and just sit in front of my computer all day and nite, waiting for banner days. Somebody wants to send me scans of the pcb, puh-leeze? (whine, beg, grovel grovel shamelessness shamelessness shamelessness)

rgds,
Brad

Thanks for including me and by the way you can hijack one of my threads any time. Although I'm very biased I think Revolver is the most genius record ever made and anything that was part of achieving that sound is invaluable.

Interesting note: Every time MTV or VH1 does a best record of all time judged by top name producers Revolver wins hands down.

Yeah, the bass sound and lead solo sound on Nowhere Man, I don't know how they did that.

My guess? George's pre-Rocky sonic blue '61 strat with abundant compression (fairchild? altec?) for starters...

Paul was using his Rick 4001S in the studio already by this point, I'm pretty sure, so could be that, as well...

Yes, I would believe that over the 12-string guitar suggestion. Seems plausible, though I'd have to really take a listen again....

It could even be possibly ADT, though I don't think that was invented yet (many say it was invented during Revolver)?

According to the Beatles Gear book, George says the solo on 'Nowhere Man' is he and John playing in unison, both playing those pale blue Strats.

DOES THIS PLACE ROCK, OR WHAT!

I get the complete grocery list for building a Peerless S-217-D AND a music video on how to play Nowhere Man! All in the space of 15 minutes.

Man was that guy dextrous. Learning all that Chet stuff really paid off.
Uses the thumb to grab the F#. Hard to play shapes legato like that. He lets the B string ring while he's grabbing the F# to give it a twelve string sound!

I think my brain is gonna explode from imformation overload.

:guinness: :guinness: :guinness: :guinness:

Aaah!

Missed the boat....been busy busy busy....not enough time for Lab fun...

...but thanks for the info Winston...

Top banana!

My bad!

I forgot about that quote from George! And I bought that guitar player magazine that the Beatles Gear book quoted when it came out like 17 years ago!

OK, so have a :guinness: on me! :thumb:

:green:
I am very excited! :thumb:
Let me know about the cash Win!
Thanks so much!
Now ya got any quadrant faders...?

Of course that wasn't George (or John) in that video though.

Wasn't that that the tune where they cranked the top on the mixer and then ran through another channel to boost more top on the guitar?

And put me down for two pcb please, or whatever I can get.

Is there a chance to do another run of these, John?
