thanks jon I've got got a bunch of low noise amperex and semens 6922's that came out of a semens oscilator Wil

If it's a real 6DJ8, yes it will work. I've had some myself that were very funky re-badged things and I don't rememer now what the popular opinion was regarding what tubes these really were - anyone?

Hey John,

My source says he has them by 4 or 5 companies and he'll be able to
sort out the REAL ones. He couldn't expand on the history of the 6DJ8.

another question... Would military sockets fit OK onto these boards?
Is there a socket that you would suggest?

A slight asside, I used an EF40 in place of the EF806 in a project. The MINIWATT EF40 I could get for a couple of bucks each and they are excellent. The drawback is they require a RIMLOK socket which is nearly impossible to find and much more expensive than the tube.

RIMLOK is an arcaic style. It is the same size as a 9 pin socket but has 8 evenly spaced pins. There is a small raised nipple on the glass tube envelope that fits a slot on the socket. A spring clip locks the envelope in position once it is in the socket. I was only able to find one supplier of these sockets, listed as "new" but required extensive cleaning before I could use them.

I will try to get some pictures for posting.
